Our first garage sale was an experiment to see if a garage sale would be feasible as an annual event. Garage sales in themselves don't usually raise a lot of money so we decided to combine it with bake sale and craft sale. We tested the bake sale and craft fair on a small scale. Craft sale was OK, bake sale wasn't worth the effort.
Homeowners donated some great items that added to the success of the event. The biggest donations came from the estate sale accross the street, Roberta's canvassing the neighborhood with flyers and individuals connecting with friends to get donations.Â
All-in-all it was an impressive amount of stuff; furniture, clothes, electronics, teddy bears, books, art, Christmas decor, linens, kitchen ware, camping and fishing gear and the list goes on.
A few homeowners had their own individual sales. Some had success others not so much.
