This is a great spot for xeriscaping. It's hilly, sandy, with intense southern sun exposure. Over the years, different attempts have been made to grow plants here; a few irises are doing ok. Someone may have thrown wildflower seeds that are now coming up, but it's the end of April and too early to tell if they're wildflowers or weeds. There's lots of weeds, especially cheatgrass. I'm in the process of removing all the cheatgrass. 4/29/24
Went to coffee at CSU.org on May 4, really informative. Lisa suggested the first thing to do would be to plant some shrubs to stabilize the ground, after that some ground cover. She also suggested a climber plant might work to cover the chain link fence. If we choose to scatter wildflower packets, best to do that in the fall.
